Ron Dennis wins Outstanding Leadership Award & praises “passion of thousands of McLaren employees”
Ron Dennis CBE has been awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award by the Marketing Society for his exceptional vision and contribution to business.
Martin Glenn, chief executive of The Football Association and president of The Marketing Society, presented the chairman and CEO of McLaren Technology Group and chairman of McLaren Automotive with his award.
Previous winners include EasyJet CEO Carolyn McCall, screenwriter and film director Sir Richard Curtis and Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis.
Ron said: ‘To receive such a prestigious accolade is a great personal honour and also a fitting testament to the talents, dedication and passion of thousands of McLaren employees.
‘In 1981 I brokered the merger of my own Formula One team, Project Four, with McLaren’s. Four years later I helped found McLaren Marketing to break new ground in the business of presenting Formula One. Ever since then, our innovations have defined the benchmark for communications, branding and hospitality, and continue to deliver value for an envious portfolio of world-class partners.
‘We remain as ambitious as ever. Our technology and insights now reach beyond motor racing into improvements across sectors as diverse as healthcare, energy and finance. I’m excited about our vision for McLaren to positively contribute to helping shape a future world, and the ability of our exceptional people, and Partners, to help turn that vision into a reality.’
